Di Ba Si Jesus Yun?
Didache
strange things were happening in my house: 1) every 3:00am, our dogs regularly howled in warning and terror, their eyes fixed on something unseen; 2) at the same time, my brother had the same unsettling dream - that a strong wind had entered and was trying to push him down; 3) a house mate one afternoon was awakened rudely by very cold hands; she saw my brother wearing a black polo enter his room, but when she looked inside to make sure, no one was there; 4) our 3-year old daughter was turning and sobbing in her sleep. I tried to soothe her, and at that moment I felt an anger against that oppressing spirit, and with determination I prayed to our guardian angels to "hunt that spirit down, bind him until he is paralyzed, and throw Him at the feet of Jesus and be death with as Jesus commands."
Our baby stopped sobbing. May moments later, I heard a whisper: "It is done." Then, our baby spoke - still asleep - "Di ba, si Jesus yun?" (Isn't that Jesus?)
I wished I could see Jesus myself. But even though I couldn't, I could trust my baby's words for it. After all, at age 3, she would remember what Jesus looks like much better than I can at 287.
Blessed William Ireland, martyr, pray for us.
Reflection: God made sure to write on our hearts everything we need to know to recognize Him. But have we placed so many other things in our hearts, that somehow we have forgotten?
Help me to remember You daily, Lord. And more importantly, help me to remember who I am supposed to be for You.
