What Makes A Young Professional Happy?

Last July 26, 2003, a talk was given by Fr. Robert Mcconaghy entitled "What makes a young professional happy" to Singles held a the Immaculate Conception Parish, Damar Village. Fr. Bob as he is called is a spiritual director of LMI ( Lorenzo Mission Institute ) and is a guest priest of Greenbelt chapel at Makati. Fr Peterson Tieng made possible the talk by inviting Fr. Bob and hosted dinner for the singles who attended the talk. The talk started around 8 pm .

What makes a young professional happy? Fr. Bob explained that happiness is accepting God's plan and will for us. Much of our unhappiness is our own doing and our choices that we make. He noted that God always answers our prayers and that most of the time we usually ask what we want but we don't listen to Him.

He explained that there are four types of how God answers our prayer
1.) If you're asking for is wrong, God says "NO"
2.) If you're asking for is right but you are wrong, God says "GROW"
3.) If you're asking for is right but your timing is wrong , God says "SLOW"
4.) If you're asking for is right, and you are right, and if your timing is right, God says, "GO"

All four scenarios where explained well by Fr. Bob by giving stories of people lives he had come across and his own personal experiences. The talk was inspiring and relevant that the FCCY-Singles who have attended the talk had asked for another inspirational talk . We hope more FCCY-Singles could attend in the next talk to be given by Fr. Bob. Announcement will be made once the schedule has been set.
