Humans? Bad?

It seems as though we live in a chaotic world nowadays. Every night, I hear news about murders, rapes, and other crimes being committed in our society. Never is there a day when every person in the world could live a peaceful life. Evil is so rampant; even our very homes are susceptible to this. But didn't you ever think of how evil came to be? God? No. Humans? Most definitely yes.

Imagine the world as it was 62,000,000 years ago. Life was just beginning to promulgate, and our planet was just preparing itself for the new occupants. All natural, 0% man-made. All instinct, no conscience. Now, let's fast forward to about 61,993,000 years later. The planet... ravaged. Good will... almost never heard of some. By this time, humans have populated the world. And as they spread, evil spread along with them. It may strange, but if there weren't any humans, then there won't be evil too, will there? Not that I have anything against people (after all, I'm one myself), it's just that when it all comes down to it, all reasons point to them. On the other hand, without humans, the world wouldn't have good will either. Which only means that we are the source of both good and evil. The choice that is presented to us by God is how to use our intellect and which path to take. So humans can't be that bad now. Can they?
