God's Plan
Kaira Leal
When God chose the Israelites to be His people, He knew that one day they would break their promise and turn away from Him. One day, they would denouce His only Son, who was sent to be their Messiah, and crucify Him on the cross. He knew about all of these and more, being the Almighty and omnipotent being that He is.
So why did he still do it? It may seem like a useless argument, but he always has something else in mind. Something great and wonderful. During the course of their journey, the people of Israel learned many lessons about faith. The challenges that they faced strengthened them and gave them more confidence in God. And even though they were bound to disobey Him, the contributions that they gave to the Church were priceless. Without Israel, where would the Catholic Church be?
And despite Israel's betrayal of God's commands, He remained faithful to them, watching over His flock like a good Father. Reminds you of the Prodigal Son, don't you think? He's always waiting for His children to return to Him one day. Will they? Or will they not? Only time will tell, and besides, this story deserves a good ending, too.
