May Call Waiting Ka Ba?

May call waiting ka ba?
This question was addressed to us as we had a film showing during the FCCY Manila monthly assembly last August 19, 2001. Despite the heavy rains and floods, an estimated one hundred FCCYers from the Mary the Queen, Saint Jude, Saint Peter the Apostle, Damar, and Dagupan chapters gathered in the Saint Jude Catholic School Audio Visual Room from 10:30 a.m. to 12n.n. to take part in the said event.
The assembly started at 10:30 with an icebreaker where representatives from different chapters participated in a "Coin Game". Afterwhich, Marilyn Uy of FCCS St. Jude gave a bird's eyeview of the film.
The film produced by the Jesuit Communications showcased the stories of four priests and a nun, and emphasized the challenges and difficulties involved in deciding to become a servant of God. Many are called, but few are chosen. It was a question of choosing between good and the greater good, a matter of discernment. Be it choosing to enter the seminary instead of choosing to start a family, choosing to dwell in the chapel instead of choosing to hang out in the mall, or choosing between a high-paying job to a non-paying devotion, these men have sacrificed a great deal for the greater glory of God.
After the film showing, Bro.Vincent Chua spoke about his experience and reactions to the attendees.
Following this was the sharing of reactions and experiences among the attendees, while the Filipino Chinese Catholic Singles (FCCS) of St. Jude distributed some snacks and drinks.
The assembly ended with a prayer, and all the members had a wonderful experience. Next month's assembly will be held at Saint Peter.
